Terms of Use

Science in Motion — Medical Animation Fundamentals

Last updated: August 10, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the websites, course platform, content, and services operated by Science in Motion ("Science in Motion," "we," "us," or "our"), including medicalanimationcourse.com and our course site hosted on Thinkific (together, the "Services").

By creating an account, making a purchase, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Who We Are

Science in Motion is an online education business founded and operated by Guillermo Miranda, providing training in medical and scientific animation. You can contact us at the email address provided in Section 17.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase a course or create an account. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Accounts are personal to you. You may not share, sell, transfer, or allow others to use your account or your course access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including through credential sharing, at our sole discretion and without refund where the violation is material.

4. Purchases, Pricing, and Payment

All prices are displayed at checkout in the applicable currency and may change at any time without notice; price changes do not affect purchases already completed. Payment is processed by third-party payment processors through the Thinkific platform. We do not store your full payment card details.

Promotional prices, discount codes, and limited-time offers apply only during their stated validity period and cannot be applied retroactively to prior purchases. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors; if a pricing error is discovered after your purchase, we will contact you with the option to pay the correct price or receive a full refund.

You are responsible for any taxes, duties, or fees applicable in your jurisdiction, except where we are legally required to collect them at checkout.

5. Course Access

Purchase of Medical Animation Fundamentals includes lifetime access to the course content. "Lifetime access" means access for the lifetime of the course — for as long as the course remains available through Science in Motion.

If the course is migrated to a different hosting platform, your access will be transferred at no additional cost, and you will be notified with instructions.

In the unlikely event that the course is permanently discontinued, all enrolled students will be notified at least ninety (90) days in advance, with full access maintained throughout that period. This notice-and-access period constitutes complete fulfillment of the lifetime access commitment.

Access is personal and non-transferable, and applies only to the course version purchased. Future editions, live programs, cohort-based offerings, mentorship, personalized feedback, or additional products are not included unless explicitly stated at the time of purchase.

We may update, improve, reorganize, or replace individual lessons or materials over time. Such updates do not entitle you to a refund, and removed legacy materials are not guaranteed to remain available.

6. Right of Withdrawal and Refund Policy

European Union / EEA / UK consumers: You normally have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. For digital content delivered immediately, this right is waived when you expressly consent to immediate access and acknowledge that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal. By completing your purchase and accessing the course, you expressly consent to the immediate supply of the digital content and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once access begins. If you do not access any course content, you may exercise your withdrawal right within 14 days of purchase by contacting us.

All other jurisdictions: Except where a longer or different right is required by mandatory local law, all sales are final once course access has been granted.

Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you hold under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

7. Intellectual Property and License

All course content — including videos, project files, scene files, PDFs, templates, text, graphics, and any other materials — is the intellectual property of Science in Motion or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Your purchase grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and view the course content for your own individual learning. You may use skills and techniques learned in the course freely in your professional work, including commercial client work.

You may not:

Unauthorized distribution of course content is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate termination of access without refund, in addition to any remedies available to us at law.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Services to engage in unlawful conduct, upload malicious code, attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts, scrape or harvest data, harass other students or staff, or interfere with the operation of the Services. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.

9. Educational Disclaimer — No Guarantees

The Services provide educational content only. We do not guarantee any specific outcome, including employment, client acquisition, income level, career advancement, or professional success. Any rates, salary ranges, industry figures, timelines, or career milestones mentioned in course materials, marketing, or free resources are illustrative estimates based on industry experience and observation; they are not promises, projections, or guarantees, and your individual results will depend on factors outside our control, including your effort, prior experience, market conditions, and location.

Nothing in the Services constitutes professional, legal, financial, medical, or scientific advice. Course content involving scientific or medical subject matter is provided for animation-education purposes only and must not be relied upon for clinical, diagnostic, or treatment decisions.

10. Third-Party Services

The Services depend on third-party platforms and tools (including Thinkific, Wix, payment processors, and email providers). We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or policies of third-party services. Temporary interruptions caused by third-party providers do not constitute a breach of these Terms, provided we take reasonable steps to restore access.

Links to third-party websites, software, or resources are provided for convenience only and do not constitute endorsement. Your use of third-party software mentioned in the course (e.g., 3D or rendering software) is governed by those providers' own licenses and terms.

11. Testimonials and Student Work

If you voluntarily provide a testimonial, review, or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display it (including your name and likeness as provided) in our marketing materials. You may request removal of your testimonial at any time by contacting us, and we will honor the request within a reasonable period for future materials.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in such jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply to the fullest extent permitted.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: (a) in no event will Science in Motion or Guillermo Miranda be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost business opportunities, arising out of or related to the Services; and (b) our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the Services in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights in your jurisdiction.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Science in Motion and Guillermo Miranda from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your infringement of third-party rights, or your misuse of the Services.

15. Changes to the Services and to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated by email or by notice on the Services. Changes apply prospectively only: the terms in effect at the time of your purchase continue to govern that purchase. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms for future use.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to the paragraph below, the competent courts of the city of Madrid, Spain shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms.

Consumer carve-out: If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose laws grant you non-waivable rights to bring proceedings in, or benefit from the mandatory consumer protections of, your country of residence, nothing in this section deprives you of those rights.

Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to first contact us and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally within thirty (30) days.

17. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Science in Motion regarding the Services. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; we may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, provided your purchased access is preserved.
